We invite you to join us in watching and discussing a pre-recorded talk by Andrea Cristina Mercado about immigrant rights and health equity. Andrea has worked alongside undocumented immigrant women for more than 15 years to build community power and create change. In her talk, she explores how support groups for immigrant women survivors of violence became the base for community organizing and action, such as a 100-woman, 100-mile pilgrimage for immigration reform and other efforts to cultivate an engaged democracy. In looking at many of the harsh realities facing immigrants, Andrea offers ways to build bridges and construct communities of belonging where everyone can thrive, even around one of the most polarizing topics of our time.
