Event Details

John Roberts, co-founder and current Board Member of the Global Village Museum of Arts and Cultures, will deliver a presentation about his global travels. He has toured 195 out of the world’s 217 countries, having added five more with his recent Around the World Voyage. The 144-day cruise embarked from Miami, navigated the Panama Canal, sailed west, and concluded in London. Countries visited included Cuba, Jamaica, Costa Rica, Panama, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Mexico, Tonga, Fiji, New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Singapore, India, Oman, Jordan, Egypt, Malta, Italy, Algeria, Spain, Portugal and Great Britain. Roberts is known for his wealth of knowledge and humorous, amazing stories. He joined the Peace Corps after graduating from the University of Colorado and was sent to Somalia, East Africa. He later joined the U.S. State Department (nee Foreign Service) and served in 19 different countries covering every continent except Antarctica. A Fort Collins native, Roberts returned home to become an international studies professor at Colorado State University. He is a distinguished and still active member in the community.
