Event Details

Africa Bags is a For Benefit organization focused on fighting poverty and empowering women in 8 rural villages throughout Malawi, Africa. Africa Bags are hand crafted on foot-powered treadle sewing machines and 100% of profits are returned to the people of Malawi! Since Africa Bags began 11 years ago our outreach has expanded to include several new projects including a scholarship program, water purification project, library and literacy program, solar power project, and our two newest ventures, Greening Malawi and Africa Pads. Africa Pads provide vulnerable school girls with reusable pad kits to keep girls in school! And Greening Malawi is focused on fighting deforestation while feeding orphans and providing an income for rural farmers. If you are interested in presenting at this program, please contact Mark Oberschmidt at moberschmidt@gmail.com to volunteer.
