Attn: Teens who like to rock! Develop your songwriting skills with Dr. David Wiatrolik. If you’re planning to submit an entry to our songwriting contest this is an excellent opportunity to hone your skills! Attendees should have the basic skills needed to play an instrument or be able to match notes with their voice. This workshop is for ages 12-18. Registration is required. After the workshop we will show you how to submit your entry online through the Library District’s self-publishing platform. More about Dr. David Wiatrolik: In addition to guitar, songwriting, composition, improvisation, and music theory Dr. David Wiatrolik teaches recording and production, using Ableton Live, Protools, Logic Pro, and Garageband. His background is a combination of formal training and real life experience, which stems from 15+ years of performing, composing, recording and teaching music. He also holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of Southern California, and his student-centered approach to music teaching and learning is both fun and engaging for his students. Whether you’re a beginner, or already play professionally, David can create a custom lesson program that can help you gain the skills and knowledge to reach your creative goals while having a great time doing it.
