Please join Natalie Ziemba for a presentation on her Peace Corps experience in Samoa. This presentation will explore the culture, geography, and day-to-day factors that influence life on the South Pacific island of Samoa. From traditional beliefs and practices to modern government and systems, Samoa is a blend of old and new. Told from the perspective of a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, this presentation is an opportunity to learn about the unique ways island life adapts to a global society. Natalie Ziemba is a Fort Collins native. She earned her B.A. in Women's and Gender Studies from the University of Colorado at Boulder, then served as a Peace Corps Volunteer on the island of Samoa from 2010-2012. She spent time in North Carolina earning her MSW from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and now works as the Hotline Supervisor with Moving to End Sexual Assault (MESA) in Boulder. She enjoys reading, baking, and spending time with her cat. If you are interested in presenting at this program, please contact Mark Oberschmidt at moberschmidt@gmail.com to volunteer.
