New to genealogy or just wanting a tune up of your research skills? This free three-hour class from the Larimer County Genealogical Society may be just what you’re looking for. The program will cover various types of genealogical records including censuses, vital records, passenger lists, military records and more. It will explain the differences between primary and secondary records and help you determine the value of each. In addition, the class will delve into the wealth of online records available including free databases as well as paid subscription ones. Once you’ve found records, you may wonder what to do with them, and the class will give you information to help you make the decision as to what type of record keeping is right for you, whether that is paper and pencil, desk top genealogy software or online family trees.
