Event Details

Teens gather in the Red Cloud Peak building at Front Range Community College (Shields & Harmony, on the FRCC campus, near the Harmony Library) to discover and experiment with several different art tools, approaches, and formats such as anime markers; watercolors; pencils; paper; and pen and ink. Sessions will also include special projects to try, and materials used at these will be available at each following month's session. February 18: Visual Journals, which are a way of making and using journals to collect and inspire ideas. March 11: Clay, slab-built creations. April 29: Printmaking, by creating stencils and screen printing. May 13: Diamonds in the Rough--creating wearable art and jewelry from scrap metal and found objects. Teens can choose to focus on one format or to try several different ones at these free, hands-on, monthly opportunities with FRCC art instructors. Materials and snacks will be provided. For those in middle and high school, grades 6-12. Registration is required for each individual session date, and teens can choose to attend 1, 2, 3, or all 4 sessions. Space is limited.
