Event Details

Virginia Cote is a returned Peace Corps Volunteer currently living in Loveland, CO. She served in Yasynuvata in Eastern Ukraine from 2012-2014. She was evacuated from the country due to civil unrest during the infancy of its 2014 “Maidan Revolution”. Ukraine is a country that has been thrust to the front of the international stage in recent years. Known as “The Breadbasket of Europe” because of its rich and fertile soil, Ukraine is a country rich with history, culture and an ever-changing search for identity. For her presentation, Virginia will be discussing Ukrainian culture and traditions and holiday celebrations. She’s also excited to share her personally unique insight into post Soviet emergency medicine! In addition, Virginia will touch on the political situation currently in the Eastern part of the country. Please note the views in this presentation are those of Virginia Cote and do not necessarily reflect or represent the views of the Peace Corps or of the United States Government.
