Event Details

The Poudre River Public Library District invites the community to participate in its Extreme Creative Cardboard Challenge, as part of the Outside The Lines: Libraries Reintroduced programs and in conjunction with the Imagination Foundation's 3rd Annual Global Cardboard Challenge. Join other creative minds September 21 from 1–4 p.m. in Library Park and let your imagination guide your creations! All cardboard and building supplies will be furnished, or bring your own from home! Build games, robots, airplanes, animals… whatever! This event will foster creativity, ingenuity, resourcefulness, perseverance and teamwork! Parents use discretion: Crafting cardboard does use utility knifes, and other sharp implements. Children will need to be accompanied by an adult. Prizes will be awarded in several categories. Outside The Lines: Libraries Reintroduced was formed to demonstrate the creativity and innovations happening in libraries. Libraries are dynamic centers for community engagement. “Let's not just tell people how libraries have changed; let's show them.” For more information on Outside The Lines visit www.getoutsidethelines.org. The Imagination Foundation's Global Cardboard Challenge was inspired by the short film, “Caine's Arcade.” The worldwide event celebrates child creativity and the role communities can play in fostering it. During September, kids will design and build games and other creations from cardboard, recycled materials and their imaginations.
