Event Details

Ecosystems in the Colorado mountains are responding to changing climate. There are changes in the timing of spring events, like marmot emergence and flowering. There are also changes in snowmelt and longer fire seasons. The explosion of mountain pine beetles is a direct consequence of warm temperatures and drought. Jill S. Baron from the Natural Resource Ecology Laboratory, Colorado State University will talk about these observations and others, along with a discussion of how to adapt to changing conditions.
