Event Details

Are you interested in using solar energy to reduce your utility bills? You may be surprised to learn that architects and engineers have been doing so, successfully, since the 1930s. Anthony Denzer's book "The Solar House: Pioneering Sustainable Design" (Rizzoli, 2013) documents and interprets the many experimental solar houses that were built in the 1930s-60s. The book has been called “a fascinating, accessible read.” This presentation will provide an overview of the book, and discuss solar heating techniques that are applicable today. Anthony Denzer, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Architectural Engineering at the University of Wyoming.
