7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Event Details

Elizabeth Hickock Robbins “Auntie” Stone Presented by Joan Day Every elementary student in Fort Collins will shout out with confidence that Auntie Stone was a cook for the soldiers and had the first school room in her home. But Auntie Stone meant much more to this community. Arguably, she was singularly responsible for bringing culture and permanence to the struggling town. History books mention her being responsible for many “firsts” such as the first grist mill and the first brick kiln, but this nurturing and strong willed woman instilled in Fort Collins the beginnings of many social mores and a humanitarianism that remain with our community yet today.
