Planting Trees and Catching Frogs: Adventures through Peru and Panama Please join Eric Wrona to find out about the explanation of the title. Erica served in the Peace Corps as an Environmental Education Volunteer in Peru from 2008-2011. She lived in a small Andean village at 10,000 feet and spent her days planting trees, teaching kids about the environment, cracking jokes in Quechua, and eating heaps of delicious potatoes with her community. She extended her Peace Corps service for a 3rd year working with the Huascaran National Park and Biosphere Reserve where she put out forest fires, tracked rare beasts, bought a herd of llama for a portion of the Inca Trail, and honed her Spanish skills by translating copious amounts of UNESCO documents. Erica then tacked on a 6-month Peace Corps Response position as an Amphibian Conservationist in Panama with the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute.
