Event Details

In October of 2016, retired couple Judy and Jim Packard went on the trip of a lifetime to East Africa for three weeks. At first they thought, how many lions and elephants does one need to see? As they soon discovered, every day brought something new and wonderful. "It was like drinking from a firehose," Judy said. In addition to The Great Migration, endangered giraffes and rhinos, exploring the Great Rift Valley and the birthplace of humankind, they saw Big Cats in the Masai Mara, the Big Five throughout Kenya and Tanzania and the mountain gorillas of Rwanda. Now they love to share stories and pictures of their adventures. Jim Packard is a retired CPA and Judy Cuthbertson is a part-time Presbyterian pastor in Laporte. They moved to Fort Collins in 2013 in order to be closer to family. Jim is an active member of the Eyeopeners Kiwanis Club and they both sing with the Larimer Chorale. They are the proud parents of Gandalf, a 14 year old Japanese Chin dog.
