Event Details

You know how it all works, you’ve cast your vote, now what can you do besides wait for the next election? Come learn what adults and teens can do today to influence government and policies on a local, state and national level. The League of Women Voters will lead this presentation on civic activism, including how to participate in lobby days, approach your representatives in a way that gets their attention, and raise awareness of issues that are important to you. We’ll round it off with a non-partisan postcard party. You’ll choose an issue that’s important to you, and we’ll provide blank postcards and contact info for your local and state representatives (postage not provided). This is the third in a three-part series on civic engagement.
