Event Details

Kris Cote is a Fort Collins native and a returned Peace Corps Volunteer. He served in Kerch, Crimea, Ukraine from 2011 until 2013. Ukraine is a country that has been thrust to the front of the international stage in recent years. Known as “The Breadbasket of Europe” because of its rich and fertile soil. Ukraine is a country rich with history, culture and an ever- changing search for identity. Kris will discuss Ukraine as a country in general, especially one of his personal interests, public transit in the country. He will focus more specifically on Crimea where he spent the majority of his time. Crimea, as Kris describes, is much like Hawaii to the US. It is indeed part of the country of Ukraine, but it has its own unique people, cultures, economies and politics. Please note the views in this presentation are those of Kris Cote and do not necessarily reflect or represent the views of the Peace Corps or of the United States Government.
