Event Details

Please join Mariam Chorgolashvili at International Night at the Library for a presentation on her country’s culture, nature, music and cuisine. Come in, take a seat and spend your time virtually exploring the Homeland of Wine! Who knows?! Maybe you will grab your backpack and your amazing journey will begin! Georgia is known for its diversity of natural landscapes, cuisines and cultures. Georgia is the place where every guest by the most ancient and popular Georgian saying is “the gift from God”. During the presentation, we will visit the capital of Georgia – Tbilisi and its sightseeing such as Old Tbilisi, The Holy Trinity Cathedral (SAMEBA) and Open Air Museum of Ethnography; the Kakheti region – the Homeland of Wine and ancient Georgian traditional Qvevri wine-making method; UNESCO World Heritage Site – Mtskheta; the famous Caucasus Mountains and the Svanetian Towers; Batumi – the coastal pearl of Georgia and Batumi Botanical garden; Vardzia (cave monastery); Martvili and Okaces canions. Listen to some Georgian traditional music and taste the Georgian cuisine. Georgia is easily reached by plane, car or even by cycling depending on your location. We will briefly discuss various travelling opportunities based on the audience’s needs and, of course, Mariam can be available for any further or detailed information. P.S. Georgian alphabet is one of the 14th in the World, so don’t miss the chance to have your name or whatever you wish to be written with Georgian beautiful handwriting. Mariam arrived in Fort Collins in 2017 after winning the Global UGRAD scholarship by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA). Mariam has taken part in International Fair in Izmir and for her, it’s the great pleasure to have the opportunity to introduce Georgia to the U.S. community. She is fond of exploring different cultures and sharing hers too.
