Event Details

Come listen to folk singer and songwriter David G Smith share his favorite story-songs. Song topics can include long term relationships, challenges and rewards for caregivers; the challenges--from varying perspectives--of those who deal with cancer, Rett Syndrome, Alzheimer's Disease, Parkinson's depression, and other maladies. Some of these are songs that represent people who aren't normally represented in a song; like the 10 year old cancer patient who gives the gift of life to someone else. There are songs that celebrate major life events and rites of passage and boy scout leaders. Songs also include current and/or chronic social issues that do their best NOT to politicize but rather, seek the nut of the matter at hand, and seek out possibilities for solution, or at the very least present "Questions" to ponder. In other words, these are songs that address the human condition--in all of it's wonderful and mysterious form.
