1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Old Town Library
Large Meeting Room Combo

Event Details

There is nothing hotter right now than the storytelling on TV. With networks battling cable and online subscription services for audience eyes, the content pipeline is bigger than it has ever been (370 shows on air in 2015!). Teleplays have their own formatting and structural secrets, whether half hour or hour long show. In this class, you’ll learn the most current techniques writing a series pilot, including helping you to identify and develop the storytelling elements at the core of every series, and make sure you’ve got enough to build out your franchise. We’ll explore real world, Hollywood-ready formatting techniques, focusing on the all-important core concept, correct TV structure, and character evolution over a long story arc. And good news: writing for TV will help you develop all your storytelling, be it fiction or feature film! Registration required, call 221-6740 or register online by going to the online calendar and clicking on the class title.
