You Gotta Love a Frog: Everything about Those that Swim, Hop, Lumber, or Slither Hearing frogs sing through a chilly spring snowfall; seeing turtles basking in the sunlight of a hot summer day; finding a salamander in the window well: such things bring smiles into our lives. Too often such encounters rely on serendipity. Know what’s out there to capture those smiles on purpose. Colorado’s Nature: Everything Wild and Wonderful We drew four lines to box off a chunk of land that we subsequently named Colorado. It sprawls across portions of the Great Plains, the Rocky Mountains, and the Colorado Plateau. Textured with river canyons and mountain ranges and robed in lifescapes of grasslands, shrublands, and treelands, this place we call home supports a wealth of wildlife more diverse than a storyteller’s imagination. “Colorado’s Nature” will spend the next year enriching what you already know about that wildlife, introducing you to kinds of wildlife you never knew were your neighbors, and detailing when, where, and how to find that wildlife.
