Event Details

Places of Detail: Everything about Where to Learn about What to Look For The zoo can resolve whether a Sandhill Crane or a Great Blue Heron left those tracks you found in the mud; the museum will help you distinguish deer from pronghorn tracks. More than casual strolls, zoos and museums are where you develop the observation skills that enrich your time afield. Colorado’s Nature: Everything Wild and Wonderful We drew four lines to box off a chunk of land that we subsequently named Colorado. It sprawls across portions of the Great Plains, the Rocky Mountains, and the Colorado Plateau. Textured with river canyons and mountain ranges and robed in lifescapes of grasslands, shrublands, and treelands, this place we call home supports a wealth of wildlife more diverse than a storyteller’s imagination. “Colorado’s Nature” will spend the next year enriching what you already know about that wildlife, introducing you to kinds of wildlife you never knew were your neighbors, and detailing when, where, and how to find that wildlife.
