Camping and Hiking, Fishing and Hunting: Everything about the Pursuit of Wildlife Rod and reel make fishing possible; gun and ammunition make hunting work; boots improve hiking. Likewise, being afield as a wildlife enthusiast requires certain things. A few of those things are equipment you buy or make; other things are preparations of heart and mind to succeed at being out there. Colorado’s Nature: Everything Wild and Wonderful We drew four lines to box off a chunk of land that we subsequently named Colorado. It sprawls across portions of the Great Plains, the Rocky Mountains, and the Colorado Plateau. Textured with river canyons and mountain ranges and robed in lifescapes of grasslands, shrublands, and treelands, this place we call home supports a wealth of wildlife more diverse than a storyteller’s imagination. “Colorado’s Nature” will spend the next year enriching what you already know about that wildlife, introducing you to kinds of wildlife you never knew were your neighbors, and detailing when, where, and how to find that wildlife.
