Event Details

Writing Colorado, a year-long series, features twelve writers whose books reveal the essential character of this state we call home. Colorado’s landscapes and lifescapes inspired many writers in the last two and a half centuries. Some just passed through; some came and stayed; some did not become writers until they lived here awhile. Their words, living long after they disappear, yet speak of yesterday’s Colorado that we might more clearly understand the Colorado of today. November 10 — Nineteen Ways to Engage Nature In Wasp Farm Howard Ensign Evans described how wasps have 13 ways to carry their prey after paralyzing it with a sting. When he moved to Colorado, his passion for insects carried him into every aspect of Rocky Mountain wildlife. His last book, A Naturalist’s Years in the Rocky Mountains, parallels his wasps by presenting 19 ways to engage nature.
