Event Details

Come join Kweku as he takes you through interesting sights and sounds of Ghana. Starting from the capital city, Accra and another place called Cape Coast, we visit some forts and castles built by the Portuguese, Dutch and the British, who settled, traded and colonized the people of Ghana. Then we move to the tropical and evergreen rainforest areas of Ghana: The Kakum National Park, where we ‘canopy walkway’ through the park to sights and sounds of game and vegetation. A drive through some mountainous regions of water falls and game sanctuaries. We further move to the Ashanti (historically known as the Ashanti Kingdom) Region, where we see cultural dances, colorful designs of the ‘kente’ cloth and traditional outfits of the Chiefs and people of the Ashanti. Finally, up north of the country, we see historical structures built from clay and get to know some slave sanctuaries built during the slave trade. Kweku, is an international student at Colorado State University and is new to Fort Collins since August, 2014. Loves the weather and the altitude of Colorado.
